Special interest days take place at Budleigh Salterton Football Club, Greenway Lane, with coffee available from 10.15am for a 10.45 start. There are two or three lectures, with a breaks for coffee and lunch, finishing at around 3.15pm.
Booking forms are sent out to members with society newsletters. They may bring a guest, but if events are oversubscribed members will be given priority. |

The position of SID Secretary requires me to plan for each of the three days that are held every year. I welcome members' suggestions and hope that I can include them in the programme.
I have been to the Annual Directory Meeting in London for the last few years where the many lecturers give presentations on one of their subjects. Afterwards we can make their acquaintance and discuss a suitable SID for ExeDFAS. We have to plan well in advance; for instance, in March 2010 Andy McConnell and I started to arrange the lecture he will be giving us in November this year. The third SID is traditionally in preparation for the forthcoming foreign tour. It is not restricted to those lucky enough to be going on the trip but also for people who have been before or who would rather just be armchair travellers.
The Football Club at Budleigh Salterton provides an ideal venue. There is plenty of free parking which is always a bonus and the facilities for providing lunch for 60 or so members are excellent.
