The lecture

Dr Lucy Worsley, lecturer, author and broadcaster. Chief curator at Historic Royal Palaces, the independent charity which looks after the Tower of London, Hampton Court Palace and Kensington Palace. She has also worked for Glasgow Museums and English Heritage.

Horses, Women and Architecture: the life and loves of the first Duke of Newcastle (William Cavendish)


He was the grandson of Bess of Hardwick and, like her, built some magnificent country houses and also special riding houses in which he taught his horses to dance.
